This is the nature of dealing with the reality of business - both large companies and small. I had a conversation with an appforge employee about a year ago 2006 regarding the threat MS .Net was to their long term survival, he admitted it was a big problem and was eating into their targets back in 2006.  My companies problem now is how to obtain license keys and quickly. It was never clear to me how they could make enough money to survive let alone prosper, especially with their big staff and Buckhead digs. It always felt like smoke and mirrors to me.
